Vikings win on the savagery count, but the spartans were an organised fighting unit. I'll go against the popular opinion and say the spartans.

Actually, so were some of the Vikings: The Jomsvikings were a company of Viking mercenaries of the 900s and 1000s, dedicated to the worship of such deities as Odin and Thor.

This would be fun to watch.

But, as much as I love Vikings, the Spartans would win. They work much better as a sufficiant unit, while the vikings just wanna kill someone without thinking lol. I'm not saying there iggnorant, but the Spartans have better attributes all together.

To be honest I think that has become a cliché. How could the Vikings be so victorious if they didn't use tacticts?

I think it's the American ignorance regarding the Vikings, no offense Jake, I guess it's not your fault. It would be hard to imagine, as Alfader said, that the Vikings would have been able to win so many battles, and rule so much land, if they didn't have any strategic abilities.
