Well I consider them to be quite a good band. To me they are more Death/Industrial. They have a bit of both in them. It's especially evident in their earlier works. They play quite fast paced metal which is good to listen to. I'm not the greatest fan of their latest album but Demanufacture, Soul Of A New Machine and Digimortal are very good albums.

I think Fear Factory died after "Soul of a new machine".

@Jake: Well I thought Archetype was quite a dissapointment. Transgression is even worse (or so eveyone says), which unfortunately doesn't say much for the future of the band Archetype was better than Transgression at least, but it was nothing on their older albums. Archetype, for me was just too bland. No songs sort of stood out for me. I hardly ever listen to it.

@Seb: What about Demanufacture, Obsolete and Digimortal? They were all as good as Soul Of A New Machine (IMO).

They were all huge deception to me after the great surprise I had when I heard Soul of a new machine. I expected some great modern death metal act, but the death metal side of the music disappeared too much I think.

Ok then, well if you don't like industrial metal, or just wanted a Soul Of A New Machine album, then I understand how you feel. Fear Factory are essentially an Industrial Metal band, so yeah, I can see.

Well it depends what you like. If you like their Industrial-style music, you'll choose Demanufacture, but if you prefer their original Death-style then Soul Of A New Machine should be your favourite.
