One of my favorites. In fact I was at a party in September 1983 where someone called the local Top 40 radio station here and requested "Vomit Of The Gods" by Venom. The DJ TOTALLY freaked out, saying "We'll play that when Hell freezes over! We'd lose our license! I'd lose my job!!!!".

Gotta give credit to the band who coined the term "Black Metal".

Thats actually a pretty cool story! Imagine now if they asked him to play black metal from today. Or even say early grind! That stuff rules!!!

i grew up listening to Venom. i took my son to the last Venom UK tour and he hated 'em...... He thought Onslaught were ok so i'll let him off

Ahh... Venom.

Classic, heavy.. brilliant... Hell never sounded so good. Sadly though...after the 'Possessed' album , they lost it because they got better at playing and forgot just having fun.

I saw them in the 80's with Motorhead- both bands kicked my ass!!!
