| | Demons & Wizards The symphonic Heavy Metal band Demons & Wizards. This is one of my favorite bands. With Hansi Kursh at vocals and Jon Shaffer at guitar, this is one amazing band. Their fist album, which is self titled, isn't as good as Touched By The Crimson King. Exillent albums. What do you think about Demons & Wizards?

| | I thought there already was a Demons And Wizards thread hanging about somewhere, but apparantly only a 'Demons & Wizards vs. Iced Earth' thread and a 'Demons & Wizards: Touched By The Crimson King. Best song?' thread. Must've been my imagination then. Anyway, yeah, what a band. But then again, how could they not be bad when they have Hansi Kursch, Jon Schaffer and Jim Morris in the band. I have their first, self titled album, and about half of their most recent album now. I think that their first album was better though. It was such a fast, heavy effort, I really liked it. Not really Symphonic like someone like Rhapsody, but still there. My favourite song is Heaven Denies. |

Off their first album Tear Down the Walls and The Whister are also exillent songs. Old Man's Crusade isn't all that bad either. And yes, there no that symphonic, but a not as much as Rhapsody.

When listening to a band like Rhapsody, their symphonies play a fairly big part in their music, and it does sound rather good. Demons And Wizards symphonies, I think, sort of makes background music. I think Touched By The Crimson King is still a great album, but from what I've heard, some of the songs maybe aren't quite up to the awesome standard of their first album. Songs like Terror Train and The Gunslinger do seem to be though. I haven't heard that Led Zepplin cover yet. It's meant to be good. Do you think it is? |

But, I like listening to Demons & Wizards version as well. Infact, its a little better.

They say that it adds something to the song. It's good that you like Terror Train and The Gunslinger too. I think it's good that Demons And Wizards have songs that change their pace a little. It can still be a fast song in part, but also slow down in parts. This keeps an album interesting when a couple of few songs do this, I think. |

It's good that they aren't just a Blind Guardian/Iced Earth rerun. They are actually a bit more unique than just a very direct spawn of the two bands, if you know what I mean. |

It has the vocal style of Blind Guardian, and the sound of Iced Earth. And both of them are great bands. Don't you think more bands should do this?

| | Yeah, and yet, they have something extra and different about them, it's very nice. Yeah, I also think that more bands should do this. Especially such bands of greatness like Blind Guardian and Iced Earth. Just two members from two bands form a new band with other people. It's a neat idea. It may not work out all the time, but it certainly did this time. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
