Default Russian surprises...

I am pretty sure that you all know that Russia has some interesting bands in this field.
I'm thinking of Black Forest a doom/death metal band that has quickly made it to my top 5 list since the first time I listened to their only one album : "Sadness". I haven't been that shocked since I first got a listen to Pantheist's - O Solitude. Sure Sadness was released some time ago, but I found it like a couple of months back while searching to download something from dc++.
Another band I like from Russia (more known that is) is Forest Stream. "Tears of mortal solitude" is a work of art, a true great album that every fan of the genre should own. Their interesting mixture of styles makes this album a unique one, filled with deep atmospheric interpretations.
There is a another great band (one man project) called Liholesie, but they don't fall under the genre so...nevertheless I fully recommend it to everyone.
Do you know other bands from Russia that are worth listening and what do you think of the 2 bands I've mentioned so far?

I know somebody else told me about this band, I haven't checked it yet, would you say it's worth listening?

Im not an expert in that matter. Its just that I have been in contact with one member from that band (had an interview with her) and so Dis Pater was the first this sort of band that came to mind - I think they are ok - I have read reviews that say pretty good things about them.

I'm downloading their album now as I saw it's available for free on their website. This is the link if anyone else wishes to download it: http://dispater.musica.mustdie.ru/

Forest Stream is a wicked band. And the only band i've heard of in this thread. I'll make a point to check the others out.

nah, I don't like our doom bands for some reason, more into Europian ones. some Russian bands get a lot of attention outside of Russia, like Nomans Land for instence, but I just don't see what makes them better than any other doom band
