Doom/Gothic Metal Discuss doom metal bands? in the Metal Genres forums; i haven't been much into doom metal.

| | Doom metal has changed a lot during its time so it depends on what kind of doom you're looking for. I don't know much about the traditional doom scene, but at least the modern subgenres are good - if you're into death/doom then you better check out My Dying Bride, Katatonia, early Anathema, Forest Stream, Draconian, Swallow the Sun, Mourning Beloveth etc.

I mean I find their respective last albums better than what MY DYING BRIDE has become even if I still like this band very much.

| | Thanks for the tip then, that sounds like something I should also try. I haven't investigated this scene all that much lately...
Anyway death/doom seems to be the perfect choice for starters, before proceeding to the extreme doom genres such as funeral and drone. (unless you find old school doom more interesting)
