I am a CoF fan, but yes, Midian is legendary and even the 2008 Harder, Darker, Faster Thornography Deluxe is in Midian's shadow... but hey, the metal scene is not an easy place to survive in as many like to think, so I sympathise with Dani.

The eastern sword must fall!!!

Their first albums aren't that bad, but the fact I could buy them for a ridiculous low price in a shop where shitty emo-pop has the upperhand says enough I think
Their later albums really really really suck and Dani Filth IS a queer

I like the new album, what can i say. I can't quote tracks because i've just been playing it and not noting tracks. Harder, Darker was a nuts album. I mean c'mon covers of Heaven 17's Temptation and Shakespeare's Sisters Stay, loved Cemetary and sundown too. I can't say i've ever not liked them. They are like a package to me, the music and the logo and imagery (art). How many people here have heard their original demo's? Far less polished and sounding raw as fuck. Unfortunately i've only got shitty copies, but that is enough to see how they started. I think they should be put into a category of "Theatrical metal" when you listen to an album, there is spoken pieces, opera pieces, haunting female vocals, screeching lead vocals and metal on top of that. When you listen to an album it is like being in the audience at some theatre production with it's interludes and such. I admire them for the i guess, creative risks they take to do their musical covers and something that isn't like everyone else. I'm not trying to convert people to say hey, that guys right, i'll like them now. I'm just trying to put across a different viewpoint for people to look at. They are on a mainstream label, so what. So they've got massive distribution and making a few dollars. I wonder how many bands out there would kill to have that kind of deal. Or if they were offered this kind of deal would they stay poor and struggling or would they take the opportunity. Hopefully some food for thought for you guys.

I don't know why you all keep calling them sellouts. In the states they are an underground band. Slipknot, Korn, Metallica, those guys are false metal and true sellouts.

I don't know why there is so much hate towards them, myself. I like a band or i don't, simple. I think alot of it has to do that Black metal fans take it as a monumental insult when Cradle is referred to as such. Also the fact that they are on Sony/ BMG hasn't helped their cause with some metal fans.

He has a wife and a kid to support. Its hard enough to support a family. Even harder in the music buisness. So he went with sony? His music evolved a little. Give the guy a break! Its not like he is Lars or Hetfield!
