Default Sonata Arctica

Not a bad band, too bad they got rid of Jianne. Gonna go see 'em in a week, anybody else in North America going to their concerts?

Gah, I just checked the tour schedule and the played fairly close to me about a week ago, i would have loved to go, I wish I had heard about it sooner. They are a pretty good band though.

Yeah gonna see them this coming Tuesday, I'm not into too much power / progressive metal, but I really think these guys are unique...

I'm not much into their later stuff but "Ecliptica" and "Successor" are pretty good.

To me Ecliptica sounds just like a Stratovarius clone. But quite pleasing to hear...

This was one of my favorite bands about five years ago, but these days I don't listen to them that often. Sonata Arctica is pretty good for a Finnish mainstream metal band, my favorite album is Winterheart's Guild, and the song the Cage.

I always thought it was pretty funny, when only Ecliptica and Silence were out, people accused SA for being a cheap Stratovarius-ripoff... and now, years later they released Unia and the same people complain that their sound is changed

It's always like that... think about Metallica. When "Justice" was released I remember fans saying that Metallica was playing the same thing again, and when they heard the Black Album they blamed the band because they started to change...
Anyway, I don't complain, I just don't care about Sonata Arctica and don't even listen to them... but if their sound has changed I guess it can only be a positive thing.

I just heard Sonata Arctica for the first time yesterday. I don't remember the song name but I liked it. I'd pay to see them if they were coming anywhere near me, partially because I've not been to a concert since the Metallica/Godsmack tour. I'm hoping to go to the King Diamond concert when they come to Vegas.

I love Sonata Arctica! I've seen them live twice in 2006! Sweethearts all of them. It is too bad about Jani.
