Default New bands to listen to.

Hey guys, I'm starting to get tired of the metal that I'm currently listening to. Can anyone suggest me some good symphonic/melodic/progressive/power metal type bands, preferably with relatively clear vocals, to listen to?

Tell us some bands you're growing tired of, so we'll know not to list them. Besides that...

Symphony X
Nightwish
Kiuas
Rhapsody of Fire
Ayreon
Dream Theater
Luca Turilli
Fairyland
Neverland
Excalion

Hey, thanks a lot guys!

I'd been listening to a lot of the following:
Angra
Blind Guardian
Children of Bodom
Demons & Wizards
Dream Evil
Edguy
Fairyland
Grand Magus
Hammerfall
Into Eternity
Lamb of God
Symphony X
and 3 Inches of Blood

Now, I know some of these don't really fall into the category I listed, but that's my favorite type of music. XD

Also, I'd like to say that these are all great bands that I love listening to, but I just need something new, a change of pace to mix it up a little so that I don't over listen to some of my music.

Thanks again for your input!!

The true Power Metal well has been running a little dry lately. Bands are playing flamboyant heavy or speed metal but not much true Power Metal around. The bands I listed are not really power metal either but they are really good bands. Firewind and Machine Men are especially good live bands.

I'd recommend:

Seventh Wonder (first two albums)
At Vance (Only Human era)
Heavenly (Avoid Coming From The Sky album!)
Elvenking (If you can handle the folkness)
Majestic Vanguard
Aina (Have released a great metal opera in the vein of Avantasia's two metal operas, great story worth checking out.)
Falconer
Demons & Wizards (if you enjoy both Iced Earth and Blind Guardian)
Thunderstone

I really recommend you check out "Waiting In The Wings by Seventh Wonder, my favourite prog/power release since I first heard The Odyssey by SympX.

Heavenly is a brilliant French Power Metal act, their release "Dust to Dust" was just superb

Thunderstone are another great power metal band, well worth checking out any of their albums.

Hope this helps you in your search of PM.

Get some Thy Majestie, really, one of the best symphonic power metal bands imo, great replay value and songwriting. New album out soon as well.

I'd also recommend Aquaria early Dark Moor and Insania. And, if you want something a little more obscure, give Nightscape or Crystallion a spin too. The latter two are a bit in the "generic but fun" category, but they're definitely worth checking out.

+1 for Heavenly as well.

Sabaton, too bad their lyrics suck most of the time, but the music is very well
