Anyway, a lot of 80s stuff irritates me, but that's only because it's all my mates listen to, and they won't even give extreme metal a try. Bastards.

Oh. Oh. Oh. Blind Melon. Fuck me that guy's voice is irritating. And what's with all the trumpety stuff that forms the intro of a song called Galaxy? I die a little inside every time I hear it.

And if we're talking about bands or singers completely outside the rock/metal genre, then what about the Irish easy listening singer Daniel O'Donnell? My mother got into his music when I was just 8 years old, and from then on, that was all you ever heard in my house, I'm ashamed to admit that I know his stuff pretty well, and probably know all the lyrics from memory too, and the worst thing is that in his 20-odd year career he has probably had 4, maybe 6 songs that weren't covers. When I told my mother that he hadn't written this song, or that song, she went mental and wouldn't accept the fact. And this guy invites his fans into his house for tea, cake and biscuits, and has a pair of 93 year old stalkers who followed hi from one end of America to the other one time!

Yeah...I was pretty badly affected by this 'influence' on my life
