I've given it a good try. But it's predictable (not so much in content but in delivery and characterisation, you know exactly how their characters are going to act...) and the cutaway jokes don't do anything for me.
"This is just like the time that ______ did ______" (random sequence)

That seems to happen 5-10 times per ep.
Maybe that's just me being fussy but after watching a couple of episodes that kind of formula really starts to show, badly. And it just isn't my thing tbh, overuse of pop-culture parodies doesn't do anything for me too.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Futurama though, that's my 2nd favourite animated comedy, when it started and I was but a kiddie I thought "yeah, this beats the simpsons..." and I still stand by that (although early Simpsons is great). American Dad is quite good, and I prefer it to Family Guy, mainly because the episodic storyline is more coherant/existent and doesn't have THOSE cutaway jokes.
Heh, I get a bit critical of these things... haha, I don't mean to shit on people's interests. Damn, maybe we british should make a decent animated comedy too (I don't count "Monkey Dust" as our effort :/)
