Wow, good to see someone likes Dog Soldiers, it's one of the best lower budget horror movies i've had the pleasure of viewing. The best recent horror movie i've seen is Dawn of the Dead, it was such an epic horror movie with much more character development than the typical slasher horror movies.
A very good horror movie i saw has called House Of 1000 Corpses, made by Rob Zombie.Great horror scenes. It was actually inspired by The Texas Chainsawmelee Masacre, another very good movie.
Shaun Of The Dead was good, as was the director's cut of Dawn Of The Dead.
I'm not really the biggest fan of horror flicks. Movies that take the piss (e.g. Shaun Of The Dead) are usually pretty entertaining. I'll go and hire House Of 1000 Corpses, I've seen that on the shelf and never took a film directed by Rob Zombie seriously. My curiosity is getting the better of me now

Alien was good. I also like Predator 1 and 2 for the kickass factor (even if they are a bit cheesy).
The Exorcist never really did it for me. I saw the directors cut, and it is a brilliant film technically, but it didn't really give me the spooks as much as I anticipated.
