Not a bad idea, but I think people will either prefer posting in the shoutbox or the forum, not both.

Alfader summed it up basically. There is no point in having a shoutbox or chat room if there will not be a consistent flow of activity in them.

Plus, Having a shout box on the home page would create the conception nobody comes here, especially if the last shout was over half a day ago or so

DO IT this was gonna be my first thread i started here at MT but i saw this one. lol yes we need a chatbox. people will post in both the forums and chatbox, i am a member of several other forums and i have my OWN death metal forums, and all have chatboxes and everyone posts in both the chatbox and forums.
