I think that down at the bottom when replying to a post or creating a thread you should be able to type in what band and song you are listening to; this will avoid the infamous now playing threads which are just used to raise postcount.

I will find some mods which allow for this..

The now playing threads are basically what gets a new forum going...

It certainly helps get people return...

I found my way here from metal storm where there was an advert. i'm surprised that there aren't more coming from there, as the forums there always piss me off... but maybe that's just me. Now Listening To sounds cool.

why? can't you do this anyway?

and why do people really care what you're listening to at the time of making a post? unless you are actually goijng to discuss it like say you were replying to the nile thread and mentioned that you were listening to nile at the time.

the now playing thread should really be deleted anyway seeing as its pointless but its not really doing any harm either so let people spam posts if they want.

I find the Now Playing threads to be a way of introducing myself to new music, and i'm sure others feel that way too. In many cases the Now Playing thread can be great for beginners in the metal genre.

now terll me honostly- you are away from computer for hmm.. lets say 3 days. you come back and you see 5 new pages on the NP thread. are you really going to read it all? don't think so.
and if there even are some people, who look into that thread for "new metal bands", then there are really few of them.
most poeple don't evern read the previous post to their post. they just write the band and the song and add post.
that's what 9 out of 10 do.

if you really want a thread, where people could look for new and interesting music.. to a thread called "Suggest music for others" or something.

This is getting out of hand, I never said everyone uses it for suggestions, i'm sure alot of people do. And as for the extra five pages after a three day break, it wouldn't bother me at all. You always seem to think the worst in people around here, maybe you should relax a little, the Now Playing thread isn't causing any damage to you, so what if some people use it to spam, let them. At least it's all contained to one thread.
