Limit on signature pic sizes.

What the limit on signature picture sizes? i don't come on a forum to look at large and in detail band logos so either keep it small or ban it because it takes ages to load on 56K.

EDIT: actually i think its a good idea to ban pics in signatures all together. they did thi on the metal archives forum and now people have funny quotes in their signatures instead of just a band logo (which is stupid anyway seeing as you could just list your favourite bands in your signature instead of having a pic). also mweans that people on crap connection don't have to wait for an over-sized logo to load

I don't think they should be banned all together. That pic is pretty big. I think trhat there should be a 150 or 200 pixel limit(height) and there should be an option to turn them off.

much smaller than that. metal storm had 400x100 limit to pics in signatures and i think it should be smaller than that or completly banned. its pointless

Well if there was the option to turn them off and on then if would kill the entire limit thing so we wouldn't really need it.

I dont think that they should be banned, but i think there should be some rules that how big it can or must be. If one signature is so big that almost the whole screen is full of it, then it is pretty annoying. There are several programs that allow you to make it smaller - i think people are smart enough to use it. Just imagine it if everyone has a signature that is maybe 500X500 - i think in one thread there would be like 3 Goto Pages with only 10 or eaven less posts - i dont know if you get what i mean..

actually, ive noticed now that the signature that made me want to post this thread (see screenshot in first post) actually stretches the screen so you have to scroll across to read peoples posts. and i presume that people on 800x600 screen will have to keep scrolling back and forth to read posts.

so go delete those posts with the huge signature dammit!!!

Good idea, Owen.

Web compliant banners are 468x60; according to Photoshop. I think that is a reasonable size to make whatever point you want to make across.

Mine's that big, and even though it's a crap banner, it still does the job
