Wrong. The pros use ProTools, Logic, and Cubase. I don't think anyone uses Audition in a professional context, it just isn't a good enough program.
My recording application of choice is Reaper... Cheap, free to try out indefinitely, and easy to use. It sounds good as well, and the ReaPlugs that come with it are excellent.
As for drum programs, there are a few that get great reviews.

I recently got Superior 2.0, and it is FANTASTIC. Definitely the best sounding drum sampler I've ever used.
