Do you like guitar solo's? Do you think they get in the way? Well, I love guitar solo's. I'll rarely like the song if it dosen't have a guitar solo. But, Every band I listen to does guitar solo's anyway. Do you like guitar solo's or no.

I like GOOD guitar solo's......I don't like the long-ass solo's that hippie jam-band's do. I don't have that kind of time to waste. Short and hard-hitting is good.
I keep my solo's short, but catchy, especially since I'm still not that great on guitar soloing yet. I do a lot of fill's to make up for that, as well harmonie's with the second guitarist in my band. |

Because if there to short, they don't even feel like there they're. I like guitar solo's that last about 20 to 60 seconds.

Yeah, I like guitar solos, but I don't think any song is a bad song or anything just because it doesn't have a solo in it. Black Metal doesn't have many solos in it, but I still really like Black Metal. I prefer mine to be a bit longer than fairly short. Enough to get into them, but not too much. It's great when solos have very quick back and foward note changes like in the song Sons Of Northern Darkness I think it is, by Immortal. Also in Blind Guardian - Beyond The Ice. It isn't of course necessary for a solo to sound like this to be good or anything, some solos are nice and slower and melodic. |

git Guitar Solos are the ESSENCE of metal. however some bands just dont need em. like slipknot mudvayne etc... i reckon detuned solos make the guitar player look shitty coz there easy when its in like c or some shit. this is not the case at all. look at mick thompson. hes a fucken guitar genius. I say put solos where they need to be. Solos just don't fit in some songs.

solos are cool, if they contribute to the song
bands like slipknot/mudvayne that just chug their way through every song suck
im in a band, and in some songs solos work, and in some songs, solos arent needed at all
