Default Buying My First Metal Guitar

Hey all, I listen to a lot of metal. A lot of metal _\m/ And I am now searching for my first heavy metal eletric kick butt guitar. I need you to help me in that search for one. I'm thinking right now about getting an Ibanez RG or a Ibanez GSZ120. I heard that those are great metal guitars with a lot of sustain. I prefer the RG because it has a wizard neck at the top My friend suggested a Shecter. I'm looking for something thats about $200 because I have to buy an amp, etc... I also want something with a lot of sustain. I want it to sound god-like and echo while I'm Daylight Dies by Killswitch Engage. Hehe.

Thanks to those who comment

I also forgot to mention that the other brands I am thinking of buying from are Dean, Ibanez, Shecter and Caprasin. Caparasin guitars are amazing The cheapest one I heard is about 2grand though. killswitch plays Caparsin. Check out the Caparasin Orbit Eletric guitar in white. It looks like a great white shark's tail and the wizard neck is so sick. _\m/

A crappy guitarist can make the best guitar sound shit..

A great guitarist can make any guitar sound awesome..

Buy a cheap one first and learn how to play it back to front, then fork out the moneys for bigger and better.

What if you paid a lot and then realised that you are shit at playing..!

Ive owned 4 guitars and they have all been equally good in their own way.

Fender(replica) Piece of shit - Good for learning as it was harder to play. Helped a lot in finger strength

Gibson Epiphone FLying V - Gibsons sound the best for rythm guitar as they have a chunky meaty sound which is great for power chords. Gibsons arent so great for solos though

Jackson Flying V - This is my current guitar. It is the best guitar ive ever played and is the easiest. Worth well over $1800 but its worth it if you are looking to go pro.

If i were you, id do what i did. Start cheap and progress later on.

Get a second hand fender Strat lookalike off ebay for like $150. All you need

I'd also say that a Caparison is far too expensive and unnecessary for a beginner. I bet they're nice guitars (I've never played one, but lots of metal artists do, as you can see on their homepage), but I think it's too much to start out with. You might realize down the road that playing guitar isn't for you after all, and then you've spend alot of cash on a guitar you maybe can't get sold again.

For a first guitar i would go with an ESP LTD, you get get a really nice one for 400$ or less, they play great and the action is nice. Trust me i went in the wrong direction with my first, second, and third guitar. For a first guitar you want something cheap but good. And i think ESP is perfect for a first guitar.
