Metal is just as much about the vocals as the music! Vocals ARE an instrument, and a NECESSARY addition to Metal. Imagine hearing your favourite BM song without vocals! There goes half the atmosphere in my opinion!

And sorry Heiden, but No. There is NOT almost as many women as men in BM bands. Why would you think that?

There really aren't. . . . It's very male dominated. I wish there were lots of BM girls though because that'd just be hot = )

If you want to look at girls, put some ****** music or some other new shit on, or buy a porno mag/movie!

Half naked chicks are for ****** bands like Cradle of Filth etc, to purely get more people to listen to them and buy their shit! Its unnecessary and doesn't belong in the Underground Black Metal scene. If, on the other hand they are 'purely' in it to MAKE music (not just look good), which I somehow doubt, then thats Ok! IF they do it right!

Problem is, they don't even have to be good, because people with your mindset will generally just support them anyway purely because they are chicks! Not me! I support good music! Nothing more, nothing less.

Agree with the above.

Any metal bands that specifically draw attention to female members are gimmick bands in my book. Regardless of subgenre.

Anyone who thinks that seeing a (usually "gothed up") female musician is an integral part of their musical experience is seriously in the wrong genre...

This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, hell I don't know anyone here yet, but it's such an irritating mindset tbf.

When I go to a concert or a metal festival I see as much women as men + I have met more women that listen to black metal than men... Mostly it has a rather folkish edge like the first album of Cruachan, but still BM

Oh, I was more refering to actual band members, but , yeah, you are right here!

These are the 'groupie sluts' that you are talking about, and yeah, there are usually HEAPS of them! They aren't Metal. . . they dress like Goths and stand up the front and squeel and tell the bands they 'love' them and lift their tops up etc!!!

I have that same doubt, most bands with females are simply phonies craving for attention.

I concur with the above statement I find it hard to find a band which has female members and does not use them as gimmick (this is why I went off Cradle Of Filth)

I think you confused In The Woods with Woods of Ypres.

Only reason she's not revered is because they suck and she's not even a tincy bit attractive.
