It isn't big deal for me to be one of the few girls in black metal scene here. Yes, these guys talk dirty and act pretty brutally, but since I don't mind about it...
What comes to female vocalists - don't like them. For some reason I don't wanna hear girls in bm bands.

There are lots of black metal girls, btw.

i dont see any problem with a female BM band or vocalist.
i love tons of Power/heavy metal bands with female vocalists.

Seriously, sorry if it sounds bigoted, but imo female vocals, both soft and especially those awful "operatic" ones are just distracting, unnecessary, and at worst they completely take away the atmosphere in the music, especially when shoved seemingly at random into BM.

Other than that it's all good, as long as they don't start stroking their ego and doing the whole "OMG ppl expect me 2 b a cute normal girl when i listen 2 BM!!!1 LOL r'nt I unieeq and diferent!!1?" thing. There's a lot of people guilty of that though, regardless of gender.

As a side note my girlfriend loves Limbonic Art, 1349, Wolven Ancestry etc, which I find pretty cool. The Cradle/Dimmu/Catamenia fangirls are ugh though.
