Who was the best vocalist for Mayhem? For me, its hard to go past Atilla. But writing wise, and the all round Black Metal attitude, its hard to go past Dead.

Not a fan of Maniac at all.

Maniac is out of the equation.It comes down to dead or atilla.Then dead did very little.Maybe 2 studio tracks and some live stuff i guess.He is still my fav.Atilla is not bad though.Better than a lot others.

i like all three vocalists but dead is my favorite though i believe his antics were retarded same as maniac maniac tried to hard to live up the "black metal" presence cutting yourself is not metal in my opinion.and attila csishar is cool

Dead and Euro pretty much made Mayhem. He just 'fit' with the band. While maybe he wasnt the greatest BM vocalist as some would say, I think he was best suited as Mayhems vocalist.

my vote would goes as such... depends on which album i am currently listening to of Mayhem, i know it might not make sense to those select individuals who worhip Dead or Attila, but on Wolf s Lair Abyss, Maniac is perfect. Could i imagine Dead contributing vocals on that album, yes, but it would never sound the same and who knows what the album would sound like, Atilla's vocals on the other hand wouldnt fit on that album. It is difficult to choose one over the other, but i didnt really like Maniac s vox on the Chimara cd.
The best vocalist would go to Dead or Attila for Mayhem, i cant choose.
