Default NSBM

So what do you think about National Socialist Black Metal (NSBM)? Do you also know some unknown bands that we should know about?

I hear people say that this sort of metal it actually true black metal. I don't fully agree, but I also don't diagree. Mostly you see these bands who are not in it for the money and commercial stuff, and they do make good music.

NSBM always seems to have a raw, sharp edge to it. It's some of the better BM out there. Seriously, fuck the beliefs, good music is good music. And as far as bands. Gontyna Kry, I'm sure they're well known though.

In my opinion pretty interesting music (not the ideology tho) - more agressive than most of the usual BM bands. First band that came to my mind is Fullmoon and one of theyr demo United Aryan Evil. Like one of my friend said once - enjoy the music and forget that its NSBM.

weird, unholymenace mentioned the same demo that came to mind when i saw this thread. and its a damn good demo as well

i don't listen to much NS music anyway but the few bands ive heard are all good actually apart from nokturnal mortum which im not too fond of (probably because i don't like symphonic metaL). ive only actually got albums by absurd (ger), fullmoon, krypteia, nokturnal mortum and bilskirnir

anyway im glad that nobody so far has said that national socialism has no place in metal because i find that really annoying. it has as much place in metal as anti-christian lyrics if not more because anti-christianity has lost all meaning because s many bands use the same colour by numbers lyrics formula. Ns bands actually believe what they sing but i really get the impression that a lot of anti-christian bands are just copying their idols rather than thinking for themselves. in a way, NSBM is a good thing because so many impressionable teens go around seeing they like black metal and they are satanists like its some fucking trend. its not "cool" to say that you are nationalist or like nationalist music so it gets rid of the posers. though im still pissed that HMV and Virgin don't stock NS music. wankers!

NSBM has every right to have a place in BM. This genre is still "true", in the meaning that there are no posers or wannabe's or bands selling out in here. I also have no problem with the NS part, these guys sings about something they believe in, many people don't agree with their views, but I admire how they still stand strong in what they believe, not abandoning it because their beliefs doesn't draw many fans.
I also like this genre, because the fans are really into the music. No posers, like in the "normal" black metal scene.

actually there are posers in the NS scene which is worrying really. on the metal_archives forum there was a guy who wanted some NS music but didn't actually like black metal and was just asking if people could reccomend him some melodic NS music. ass far as im concerned, NS doesn't give black metal a bad name, but people like that give black metal a bad name because it makes it seem like people only listen because of the ideology.

hellhammer, are you a nationalist? i ask because you have the pagan front banner in your sig.

Very good arguments you have here! There should be more that kinda people - to think a bit more widely and not to think that NSBM is all about hating jews etc. People dont mind listening to anti-christian music, but if you say that you like NSBM, then you are a nazi and so on.

I like the quality of the NSBM bands....the production might be bad....(sometimes)...but the sheer quality of National Socialist Black Metal is top notch. Bands like Pantheon,Hate Forest,Drudkh,Nokturnal Mortum,Velimor, Fullmoon, and Blutkrieg come to mind.I think there are LOTS of NS bands coming up.....most of them are very original bands...esp. Drudkh and Nokturnal Mortum.But i dislike their ideaologies, not loathe them or anything, but I have many arguements for their thoughts on Philosophy....

Nsbm is not a kind of black metal, it's still mostly pagan/true BM. So it's just normal BM. But I can't stand these posers which say they are so cool just because they support these bands and think like them.

@Hellhammer
I don't know where youre from but the most people listen to that music are Posers ( Here in Germany / Switzerland / Austria ). Nsbm is nothing special , it has nothing to do with their music , just how they think. In Russia it's even worse, the most bands their say that they are nsbm and that even is like a sell-out, a new hype.

Well i myself listen to some bands ( Drudkh, Nokturnal Mortum, Absurd, Temnozor ) But only because i like their lyrics ( i can speak and understand german/ russian ) and i would never listen to them of they had some ns lyrics.... can't stand that shit. ( yeah nokturnal mortum has some ns lyrics, but i don't listen to those albums )
