Borknagar:Majestic Black Metal with doom Elements

Borknagar were proud to present new vocalist. You might have heard of him before, as his name is Vintersorg! From this day forth he will take on the duty of being the new permanent vocalist in Borknagar. The collaboration is based on mutual musical interests, visions and friendship. Fans of the band Vintersorg should not worry, as this will not interfere, stop or cripple this band in any way.Shortly after,
There were already some rumors, but it was made official. Tyr is the new permanent bassist from Borknagar. He already was a session member for Satyricon and he also plays in Emperor. The band rehearsed last weekend for the first time with Tyr and the chemistry is very good.
Unfortunately Borknagar had to cancel their scheduled European tour with Mayhem, Red Harvest and Griffin after Simen Hestnaes aka Vortex decided to fully concentrate on his duties with Dimmu Borgir and work on their forthcoming album. The rest of the band is still good friends with Simen... but now they is trying hard to find capable persons who can do the bass and vocals and are 100% dedicated to Borknagar. Musically it will be a continuation of the latest effort.
And if one nomination for best metal album isn't enough (Alarm awards), Borknagar is also nominated for the Spellemannsprisen in the Hard Rock catagory. This is the "biggest" award in Norway , and has existed since the late sixties. Other nominees are Dimmu Borgir and Emperor.

Heh.. they have no doom elements that I know of. But I increasngly get the feeling that you know nothing about doom.

i'm not so sure as you,did you know Doom-metal is a sub-genre of the highly diverse metal genre. This means that the first criteria will always be that the music must be metal at its core. There are also many misconceptions about what metal really is, but that particular topic does not fall within the scope. I wouldn't derail the subject now we re about Borknagar.if you want that i tell something about doom metal so it could be better asking in doom section.

DO NOT preach to me about what Doom Metal is. You obviously lack any intelligence in the genre. Doom metal is my passion, and I can honestly say I know more about it than anyone I have ever met. All I see you speaking anyway is total fucking gibberish and news from over two years ago. Kindly learn something about what metal is and how to classify it. Then come back and talk to me. Until then anything you say is total useless gibberish. And for you to say that I don't know anything about Katatonia, really angers me. Katatonia is my favorite band, and I know more about them than you. And don't give me any shit about doom having to be metal at it's core, look at bands like Autumn Tears. WHO ARE NEO-CLASSICAL BUT WHO ARE STILL CONSIDERED DOOM. Kindly fuck off and get a clue.

Don't be over-confident,i don't judge from the appearances,your are a doom metal mod but it's don't mean that you are the most doom metal freak here,just compare my posts and yours.And to be honest,i wanna informe you that i'm really mesmerized that you are a mod,you know why?because there is a lot of gifted members better than you here,i don't mean me,but a lot that they get worth to be a MF mod.really i don't know why they have taken you ad a mod.your real position is village servent.

And your real position is an ignorant illiterate mongoloid. I do know my stuff, and I am aware that many others also deserve a modship. But I happened to get it, and I must have gotten it for a reason. I'm sure Owen wouldn't pass it out if he didn't think that I could do the job. And comparing posts, all you seem to talk about it mainstream entry level crap. And who said anything about bieng over-confident. I merely stated that I know more about doom than anyone i've ever met, and it appears that not many people around here listen to alot of doom like I do. Kindly refrain from replying, as I am locking this. Don't make another thread.

From their latest news,they gave their interview features some other band such as UNEARTH and NORMA JEAN, as well as their videos and videos from BORKNAGAR(vintersorg), A PERFECT MURDER and ZAO. Also available is last week's ROAD RAGE episode hosted by (drunken) Corey of TRIVIUM, featuring 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, TRIVIUM, STILL REMAINS and THE AGONY SCENE, also all really really reallly drunk.
