Default BM bands/albums with good production

I'm a relatively recent black metal convert, and I need some help. I'm a fan of brutal black metal and some symphonic, but I'm a bit put-off by the low production values that I hear so often. I understand why it's done, it's just not my thing. It feels more powerful when a blastbeat sounds like real drums, not vague clicking noises that could possibly be drums.

Anyway, I'm looking for bands, or even specific albums, that have high production values. Stuff along the lines of Marduk's "World Funeral" or Gorgoroth's "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam". I don't care what they lyrics are about, just make sure it's fast and brutal.

Dude try to start with the most famous ones:

Mayhem - Ego Dum Sathanas
Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times.
Diabolical Masquerade - All of them are high good quality.
Darkthrone - A Blaze in the Northen Sky.

I'm not into mainstream Black Metal but here you have a good list.
If you'd just "converted" ( never heard that one before) to black metal, try to go deep to the underground. They also have good production.

The North American and South American scene is giving birth to a beautiful black metal world. Try to find out more bands from there.

go some Naglfar or Immortals latest album.

but honestly dude BM loses alot of its effect when the
production is too crisp.

id recommend getting used to the raw sound. you will
listen to alot better bands that way.

False. These are piss poor examples of Bands/albums with good production. (Although I haven't heard new Gayhem, and judging by their now 'mainstream' approach, I won't dismiss the possibility with their production!)

Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times? Darkthrone - A Blaze in the Northen Sky?
Good production?

Telling someone to go DEEP to the Underground, which are bands who do everything ENTIRELY on their own, generally without a label or any kind of mastering or decent production!

Name me some albums by bands DEEP in the Underground that surpass the quality of the more known Black Metal bands, or generally have better production?

This is entirely misleading.

i actually really think the majority of what people consider to be 'no production'
or 'poor production' is all talk.

i listen to tons of bands with supposedly 'poor production' and really.... its a meaningless
phrase. You cant tell the diffence.

as long as you can at least hear the bloody music, who gives a fuk.

This is true in a way. The difference is the LACK of production with a lot of these bands. The whole HOME studio production, is to me just the natural was it should sound! This is why I think a lot of these bands who spend in excess of 50 grand to get something produced are a joke! There really is no need for an overly polished sound in a genre thats about the opposite!

yes yes exactly right.

if its Technical or melodic death, powermetal ect.
by all means, yes. that sort of 'lots of fast notes' music
requires some good production, recording ect...

BM, on the other hand, is a very minimalistic type
of music, so it doesnt require any production
at all really. plus u want the notes hidden under the filth
and distortion.

I don't like too much distortion, but I hate it when it starts to sound like DM, so it should be raw. If you want pure brutality, you should try death metal...

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here? You don't like what to distorted? Black Metal music? But at the same time it should be raw, but not sound DM? What do you mean?
