Does anyone here like Obituary? They are a Death Metal band from America and they are very worth checking out. All of their albums are great (except Slowly We Rot, which is IMO less great). Their vocalist, John Tardy, has also, quite a unique voice. They also have, a pretty much original line up from 1984 until today as well. (Only their bass player isn't an original and he took over from their original one after only one year). But yeah, what is everyone else's thoughts on this band?

When I first heard 'em I didn't know what to think....But I liked 'em ever since. They're crazy! Virtually no real words in the lyrics (I've heard mostly their early stuff-Slowly We Rot-and etc.). Long before Lord Worm or Cryptopsy.... _\m/

There pretty good. I've only heard a few of there songs, but from what I've heard of them there very good. That song "Insane" is stuck in my head all day long.

Yeah, that's my favourite too. Obituary really started being good at this album. Their other albums after this are also great, but not quite as good as Cause Of Death.

I would have to say that Cause of death is the best album of theirs that i have heard. I have listened to Slowly we rot and World demise, but Cause of death is the album that had the most impact on me. I haven't heard much else beyond that.

Ah man, this band never gets boring though all the songs are similar. Slowly We Rot is a masterpiece!

listen...obituary were one of thee best death metal bands...now i aint so sure. as has been mentioned in this thread before, cause of death was the first death metal album that i listened too and the album that i have listened to most in my life...its a shame that they themselves disregard this album as it is definitely the best album they ever released...hail james murphy, hail the vocals, hail the double bass...it had everything
