Default Melodic Death Metal???

Hey whats everybodies beef with Melodic Death Metal??? I happen to like it a lot. Why do some people bash it like it's EMO or Nu-Metal? How can you not like At The Gates...I don't understand it?

Also Vital Remains is a pretty sweet Melodic Death Metal Band...not to mention it's Glen Benton's band too, who just happens to be one of Death Metal's forefathers!

Melodic death metal actually is more meaningful that general death metal... More feeling and less butcher-ness. Take Dark Tranquillity, for example. How can such an awesome band be posers?!@#$

The real posers are nu-bastards, like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park. Those are the bands that truly mst fade and die a painful death.

I agree with you totally but I've seen a lot of people in this forum bash Melodic Death Metal as if it were Nu-Metal...I couldn't see the reasoning behind it.

I don't know, I always thought good Melodies made the song good...like Iron Maiden and Judas Preist, but that's Heavy Metal.

Do you like At the Gates?

How about Vital Remains???

I think Dismember are 'considered' Melodic Death Metal. They aren't really that Melodic though I don't think.
