I think the main problem is that the "brutality" of their old school albums is dated by todays standards, and it comes off as a bit silly in places. Their early stuff hasn't aged as well as the likes of Pestilence. |

| | Re: Cannibal Corpse I like both vocalists, but chris barnes gets really monotonous after 4 or 5, so I say corpsegrinder.
Cannibal Corpse is one of my favorite death metal bands |

| | Re: Cannibal Corpse I love their music, every album they've made is just pure quality. They are a huge inspiration for me when it comes to songwriting (musically) and guitarplaying in general. And they are the ones who got me into death metal! |

| | Re: Cannibal Corpse My all time favourite band. Barnes is amazing but Corpsegrinder is alot better. Don't get me wrong, I still love Barnes. George just has more power behind his vocals.

| | Re: Cannibal Corpse Personally i either like the sound of an album or i don't. It doesn't matter to me whether they have changed vocalists, guitarists etc. I love their gore themes, that is what attracted them to me in the first place. When i heard and purchased Eaten Back to life, i knew they were going to be something different. A mate said at the time that there were too many bands out trying to outgore each other. Again at the end of the day it is music and entertainment. In my opinion Cannibal corpse re-defined this type of extremity in metal. Since my other post in this thread, i have been listening to "The wretched Spawn", great album. Long live the corpse. |

| | Re: Cannibal Corpse Cannibal Corpse are one of those bands that always get a lot of shit thrown their way because their music stays virtually the same. They are much the same as Bolt Thrower in that respect, but since they get a load more publicity, they attract all the complainers.
I applaud them for creating the music they like and not bowing to pressure to "evolve" or change their sound. It's precisely that reason that some people like them and some people hate them.
Personally I like them and though some albums are admittedly worse than others, they stick to their guns and continue to make some of the most reliable, heavy and gore-laden death metal around. It'll be a sad day indeed when Cannibal Corpse hang up their instruments. |

Let's hope it's better than Kill, eh? |

| | Re: Cannibal Corpse Cannibal Corpse's first albums were great, but I never can take their newer stuff seriously. Stripped, Raped, and Strangled is an amazing song, along with the whole "Bleeding" album.
But it's cool, you have your opinion.
