I used to have Eaten back to life, a long time ago. Something that impressed me at the time was the extremity of their album covers. Their artwork didn't impress the censors here, because they started to supply the cd's with missing artwork on the front and the original art on the inside. Carcass were first i think then Cannibal. One of the Six feet under albums was frowned upon here because of it's lyrics.
I had a Butchered at birth t-shirt which i wore most proudly. Nowadays you can get the combined Cannibal cd's and nobody apears to care about the censorship anymore. The last album i got where the art was censored was Divine Empire- Method of execution. Cannibals best song Sentenced to burn. The vile album is pretty impressive. Beyond that i haven't heard any of the other cd's.

I love it all. Totally prefer the Corpsegrinder years, but Barnes did some great fucking shit. Anyone who wasn't inspired by this band doesn't know nearly enough about them.

I preferred the lyrics of Chris Barnes, but not so much his vocals. He was pretty one-note, which got sort of annoying. Corpsegrinder does some crazy shit with his vocals, he sounds way more vicious and nasty than Barnes. I have the first three Cannibal albums, as well as "The Wretched Spawn", but so far I like the early albums a lot more.
