on my own cd I can read : copyright 1986 Island Records
That's probably because it was recorded then, it was released in 1987.
Thats correct to my knowledge. An album is copyrighted before it is realeased so it could have easily been copyrighted in '86 while the album wasn't released until '87.
Thankyou

I love Spreading the Disease through to Persistance of Time. This to me is their classic years.
I saw them live during this time and to me they are one of the best bands to watch live. I even saw them supporting Iron Maiden on their Prayer for the dying tour (Anthrax had recently released 'Persistance of time'). Considerring Iron Maiden were and still are one of the best groups live, Anthrax were not shown up. Both bands are energetic and make use of the whole stage running and jumping around.

My favourite albums is 'State of Euphoria' which to me was their darkest and most mature album. The lyrics are realistic and streetwise and the riffs are great too.
Joey Belladonna has a great voice that can compete alongside some of the big Heavy Metal / Hard Rock singers with powerful clear voices.

A great band for the mature thrash fans!!

Why the F**K they went down the road with all this hip hop rap rubbish I'll never know. They were a good respectable band until then.

I think they lost the plot because of the Public Enemy rap thing but back in the day they were the dons.

Have you ever seen them live? Fantastic live.

Anthrax as the classic line up with Joey Belladonna is what I see Anthrax as. John Bush may have been great with Armoured Saint but his voice doesn't meet up to Belladonna's.

Fistful of metal was a good classic album but for me Anthrax is definetely Spreading the disease through to Persistance of time. After this they lost the plot. Unlike Metallica they never actually sold out just lost their classic edge as a main stream metal band after doing that silly rap fusion thing.

Cool Re: Anthrax:legend of U.S.A thrash

To me their best albums, Among the living, State of euphoria and Persistance of time. After that i pretty much lost interest in anything else they did.

Hi!

Cherry Red Records is proud to release 3 Anthrax DVDs.
"Live Noize" filmed in the summer of 1991 when Anthrax made musical history by collaborating with Public Enemy .
The show incorporates approximately one hour of live performance with back stage footage.
"Oidivnikufesin N.F.V", a 1988 VHS release – never released on DVD.
"Through Time P.O.V. (persistence of videos)", this DVD encapsulates the growth through years of Anthrax with
live, intrview footages and promo videos!

Check it out at : Cherry Red Records : Anthrax

Enjoy!

I agree but Spreading the disease which was the one before Among the living was also good in line with the other three. Fistful of metal which was their first and the one before spreading the disease was not bad but everything since is a wash.

N.F.V & P.O.V. are good but lets not mention the collaboration with Public Enemy.
This is what made Anthrax fall from metal heroe status. the E.P. "Attack of the killer 'b's" that accompanied it was a joke. It Anthrax hadn't decided to venture out in silly directions collaborating with Hip Hop / rap and remained a mainstream metal group then perhaps Joey Belladonna would have stayed and they would have carried on making albums like the above mentioned.
