Talking of relation of metal and rap, has anybody here heard of Necro. He is the self proclaimed king of Death rap. A genre that combines horror themed rhymes with hip hop and metal. He has a history of being in a metal band when he was younger. On his albums The pre-fix for death and a project called Circle of the tyrants, he utilises Sean martin(Hatebreed), John tardy( Obituary), Dan Lilker ( Brutal truth) to name but a few. Nu- metal to me is Linkin Park, Korn, and Limp bizkit.

Ok. I don't really have any idea where you guys are getting the rap thing, I'm not going to say that it isn't a valid argument, I just haven't ever seen the correlation there.
As for Nu-Metal, I don't really find it to be an actual genre. It's mostly just a grouping of whatever artists choose to associate themselves with it. Almost every Nu-Metal artist falls closer to Hard Rock than Metal. So I guess if I had to categorize it I'd say 'Nu-Metal is slightly heavier sounding than hard Rock, but not quite metal.
That's just my two cents. I'm not a fan of most 'Nu-Metal' bands, so this is really just my opinion from the outside looking in.
