Default Your favourite lyrical passage to a song?

Hails,

What is your favorite lyrical passage to a song? For me, I would have to say Bathory's - One Road to Asa Bay would have to come close to the top for me.

Code:
And though he did know already
Though he turned face towards sky
And whispered silent words forgotten
Spoken only way up high
Now this house of a foreign God does stand
Now must they leave us alone
Still he heard from somewhere in the woods
Old crow of wisdom say
...people of Asa land, it's only just begun...

It's a whole song for me. The translation of ENSLAVED's "Blodhemn" (not corrected).

Code:
You killed my son, I am swearing revenge
You destroyd my path, and truce with my peaople
You blackended my name, they believed you

You saw my destiny as mockery
You was me dying with my fatal wound
You thought I would never rise

You thought the light was your friend,
That you sprung from it
You thought everyone would obey your words
And forget the gifts of Valfather.

You forgot your father's wise words
of betrayal, destiny and death
You forgot your duty as a man of strife,
and killed your brother sleeping

You thought time would heal the wounds,
that my people would forgive and pray
You forgot about me and my holy duty
I will kill you with anger

Vengeance in blood I swear
Vengeance in blood I have always sworn
Or this extract from MANOWAR's "Hail And Kill". _\m/

Code:
Rip their flesh
Burn their hearts
Stab them in the eyes
Rape their women as they cry
Kill their servants
Burn their homes
Till there's no blood left to spill
Hail and Kill

From Iron Maidens "Hallowed Be Thy Name"

Code:
I'm waiting in my cold sell,
When the bell begins to chime,
Reflectin on my past life,
And it doesn't has much time,
Cause at 5 o'clock
they take me to the gallows pole,
The sand of time
for me are running loooooooooow.
It just gives me a good picture, and i love when songs do that. And not only that, it rocked totally when they played it live!

I also like all these passages very much.

What about the way Ministry's "Jesus Built my Hot rod" sounds ? I like it.

Code:
Bing bing bang a bang a bang bing bong bing a bing bang a bong
Binga bing a bang a bong bong bing bong bing banga bong

Bing bing bang a bong bong bing bing binga binga banga bong
Bing bing bang a bang bang bing bong
And Bathory's "Hammerheart" sounds great in another style
Code:
Now that the wind called my name
And my star had faded now hardly a glimpse up in the empty space
And the wise one-eyed great father in the sky stilled my flame

For the ones who stood me near
And you few who were me dear
I ask of thee to have no doubts and no fears

For when the great clouds fills the air
And the thunder roars from o, so far away up in the sky
Then for sure you will know that I have reached the joyous hall up high

With my bloodbrothers at side
All sons of father with one eye
We were all born in the land of the blood on ice

And now you all who might hear my song
Brought to you by the northern wind have no fear
Though the night may seem so everlasting and forever dark

There will come a golden dawn
At ends of nights for all yee on whom
Upon the northstar always shines

The vast gates to hall up high
Shall stand open wide and welcome you with all its within
And Oden shall hail us bearers of a pounding hammerheart

Not that I've listened to them for AGES, but Cradle of Filth's Lord Abortion has a passage I liked quite a bit.
Code:
"My heart was a war-drum beat
By jugular cults in eerie jungle vaults
When number thirteen fell in My lap
Lips and skin like sin, a Venus Man-trap
My appetite whetted, storm crows wheeled
At the blurred edges or reason 'till I was fulfilled
Whors d'oeuvres eaten, I tucked Her into
A grave coffin fit for the Queen of Spades
She went out like the light in My mind
Her face an avalanche of pearl, of ruby wine...
Much was a flux, but the mouth once good for fucks
Came from retirement to prove She had not lost Her touch
I kissed Her viciously, maliciously, religiously
But when has ONE been able TO best separate the THREE?
I know I'm sick as Dahmer did, but this is what I do
Ahh, ahh, ahh, I'll let you sleep when I am through...
You fucking whore."

Mayhem Freezing moon:

Code:
It's night again
Night you beautiful
I please my hunger
On living humans
Night of hunger
Follow it's call
Follow the freezing moon..

Darkness is growing
Eternity opens
The cemetery lights up again
As in ancient times
Fallen souls die behind my steps
By following the freezing moon..

I saw a signature with the "loser rhymes with poser" thing. But...they don't rhyme, lol.

Jesus Built My Hotrod is an awesome song! I have the single to it

Bathory lyrics are the best though I think. Shores In Flames is the best for lyrics (and also my favourite Bathory song). The whole theme of warriors going off to battle in foreign territory with the gods as their guide is great. The lyrics portray it well.

Mine would be from Mother North by Satyricon

Code:
A Future benighted still they are blind
Pigeonhearted beings of flesh and blood
Keeps closing their eyes for the dangers that threat... ourselves and our nature
And that is why
They all enrage me
