Yes, yes, all of us agree, Metallica have failed to us many times (3 times, to be exact). But, their new release deserve a patient listening. It is NOT nu-metal, damn it! And I like it!

Just bought it. Sounds good so far.

Bought the new album a few days ago and I saw them live at the O2 last night.

F*%Kin' Brilliant!!!

Great concert. Seek and Destroy was their best song. But then they played a great selection of songs.

Suffering today as I got paralleticly pissed. Not too bad though that I couldn't watch the concert - just enough that I don't think I stopped dancing. I was happy doing my little funky jig on the spot, raising my arms or pumping my fist in appreciation to the band. lol. Great venue but expensive. I'm dreading how much I spent on beer. £4 or £3.70 a pint dependiing where you bought it!! plus £6-£7 for pizza (not a large one either), £2-£3ish for chips, £? for hotdog & £20 for a t-shirt, £20 for parking - Ouch!! Then afterwards I went on a hunt around Chalton for a chicken shop - drunken stupidity I stitched myself up with well spicy chicken thinking it was BBQ

I've been playing the new album in my car the last few days and I've come to the decision it definetely rocks. The only song I skip is "Unforgiven III" which bores me. My favourite track is probably "All Nightmare long"

I heard one or two songs from the new album in HMV in Cardiff today. No idea which songs they were, but they sounded pretty good. I probably won't buy it for a few months (cash flow problems ) but I think what little I have heard is worthy of sacrificing a few pounds for

There's no way they can return to their earlier style because no one can go back in time or try to recreate something. That's why Hellhammer have refused to regroup and play live shows becasue they say it was an era in their life, and trying to reaceate it would be false.
anyway, Metallica were told to just make a good Metallica album, and death magnetic isn't that bad. But take away all the fame and fortune, it's really just average stuff. The first track is really good though.

I have only heard one of there new songs on Jools Holland the other night, it sounded ok but i dont think any of there new material will have the same impact as it did back in the day.
