Default What is your favorite verse from a song?

Just wondering if anyone has the same problem I do....you listen to a great song, but only one verse gets stuck in your head and that's all you can sing and think about. Frustrating when it's a terrible song tho. So what's your favorite verse?

I have no idea. Of course, there's something I think sound good, but at the moment I don't remember it. Besides, I've probably heard too much to have a single favorite.

"Memories... The Invisible Wounds" (Satyricon - "Mother North")

Its just a small lyric, but its always stuck out since the first time I heard it back in 99. Its so truthful.

Well, mine changes a lot...now it's this:

"A million old soldiers will fade away
But a dream goes on forever"

from Todd Rundgren, probably because I was listening to it earlier this week and it stuck in my head. great song too.

nice ^_^ mine is always changing too....let's see for today it would definitely have to be:

mad world donnie darko version

all around me are familiar faces
worn out places
worn out faces
bright and early for the daily races
going no where
going no where
the tears are filling up their glasses
no expression
no expression
hide my head
i want to drown my sorrow
no tomorrow
no tomorrow
i find it kind of funny
i find it kind of sad
the dreams in which im dying
are the best ive ever had
i find it hard to tell you
i find it hard to take
when people running circles
its a very very mad world

its a long one there, but i love the song ^_^

By Nargaroth in the song Amarok - Zorn Des Lammes III
I have seen the wrath of the land,
as I wandered like a wolf among the sheep.
I was a part of the wrath of the lamb,
so I am a part of the wolf.
Oh I am the wolf, oh I am the lamb,
so I am Satan and I'm God.
Call me now Judas or call me insane,
I am what I am, I'm just a man.

Not metal, but I love this verse by the RHCP
Space may be the final frontier
But its made in a Hollywood basement
Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station
And Alderons not far away
Its Californication

Who else would reference Star Treck, Curt Cobain, David Bowie, and Starwars all in one verse? Thou he could have left out that poser cobain . . .

for me the most powerful words i've ever heard is a toss between Savatage's Believe and Alone you Breathe. The first time I heard their music I saw them live for their Hall of the Mountain King album. The imagery in their lyrics have made them my favorite band for almost 20 years now. I wish I had half this talent when it comes to writing poetry

from Believe
So after all these one night stands
You've ended up with heart in hand
A child alone, on your own… retreating
regretful for the things your not
and all the dreams you haven't got
with out a home a heart of stone lies bleeding
and for all the roads you’ve followed
and for all you did not find
and for all the things you had to leave behind

I am the way
I am the light
I am the dark inside the night
I hear your hopes
I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams
Don’t turn away just take my hand
And when you make your final stand
I’ll be right there
I’ll never leave
I ask of you is believe

from Alone You Breathe

You were never one for waiting
Still I always thought you’d wait for me
And have you from your dreams awakened
And from where you are what do you see?
Which of us is now in exile?
Which in need of amnesty?
Are you now but an illusion?
In my mind alone you breathe…

…tomorrow and after you tell me what am I to do
I stand here believing that in the dark there is a clue
Perhaps inside this midnight sky
Perhaps tomorrow’s new born eyes
Or could it be we’ll never know
And after all this was the show
What I am I to do?...

…Standing in on a dream
Is it what it seems?
Could we then reclaim a dream refused?
Knowing what we know
Could we let it go realizing that all the years are used…
