Default What are you listening to ? V

Ok, new thread. Let's go back to roman numerals... don't know where the "IIII" came from :P

AKHENATON - The Kingdom Of Wisdom (Atmo. Black Metal)

N.P. Zavorash - The Conjuration of the Dead God

This is some nice Black/Death with rather unique vocals.

My thoughts exactly, but it turned out that IIII is often used on watches instead of IV.

I think IIII and IV are one of those interchangeable numerals.

Anyway, I'm listening to Therion - Asphyxiate With Fear.

I actually really like Therion's old Death Metal stuff. They're an amazing band with a rather amazing evolution. But I like their Death Metal as much as their newer material. It's really quite strong and heavy in the hard and driving Death way. Really good stuff.

I don't think so. That's only accepted in horology as Alfader said, for historical reasons probably. Anyway that was just a mere remark.

N.P. THY SERPENT - Of Darkness And Light (Atmo. Black Metal)

Too bad they're no longer in activity.

Though throughout history IIII was used as well as IV. Take a look - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_n...#IIII_or_IV.3F

NP. Moonsorrow - Tuulen Tytar

I really like Moonsorrow, but they're one of those bands that I like but for some reason I don't seem to get to listen to them often enough. Their Folk/Viking material and their more Black Metal earlier stuff is both great. They use folk instruments and melodies to great effect.

Well, if it's written in Wikipedia...

Seriously, I agree, IIII is historical... and 1000 was first written ÌIÉ. But we now have official rules, which clearly say that a letter can only be repeated three times. Source (at random).
