Default What's this sound?

Hi!

I've been listening to Bathory and Finntroll quite a bit, and I've noticed a sound both of these used in one of their tracks, namely: Finntroll - Ur Djupet (at start) and Bathory - Shores in Flames (at the end), and I wonder what it is... I figure it will have something to do with ship sailing, but if someone knows exactly, please enlighten me .

Here's last 50 seconds of the Bathory song where it can be heard (you might have raise volume a bit):

I think it's a wooden lur, a war instrument used by the vikings to encourage the warriors and frighten the enemies, or at least something that is supposed to sound like it.

What I've wondered is what that "boinging" sound is in some Folk/Viking songs.

Is that what is officially called ? I knew "mouth harp" and "jew's harp"... not this one, but it's written on the box as I can see. Perhaps there are differences between the three.
