The Room Of Death I got a story to tell.
My friends and I have something called the ROOM OF DEATH.
It's an imaginary dungeon which all bands who pull out of gigs are banished to.
Destruction are currently the longest serving inmates in the Room Of Death, having first been banished there in 1988 when they pulled out of playing with Sodom in Sheffield.
Since then they have had several opportunities to redeem themselves, but sadly to no avail. They have since pulled out of gigs with Kreator amongst others.
On one occasion my friend actually went on holiday to Destruction's native Germany, only to discover they played back in England while he was away.
Now that's taking the piss.
Other bands to have joined them in the Room Of Death are Voivod (believe it or not), Iced Earth, Deicide and Ozzy Osbourne.
Some bands will never, ever be banished to the Room Of Death.
Machine Head, Dio, Death Angel, Slayer, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are exempt, simply for the dedication they have shown for their fans. They ALWAYS turn up no matter what.
It's also possible for you to be in someone else's Room Of Death.
For instance, we arrived late to a WASP gig recently, and missed Dragonforce, so we were in Dragonforce's Room Of Death - at least until we redeemed ourselves by seeing them at Wacken.
But I inadvertantly put myself in Candlemass's Room Of Death at that very same festival when I got drunk, left my ticket in the tent and missed their gig.
Hopefully I can redeem myself when I see them next month in London - with none other than DESTRUCTION!
Now that's fate!
