Default New World Record

British punk band, Gallows, have broken the record for the loudest noise produced by a guitar, a record previously held by Manowar.

Playing through 12 Heads and 12 Cabs, reaching a volume of 132.5 decibels.

Louder than standing next to a jet engine! Respect.

I think it's rediculous, loud doesn't mean better, but somehow bands like Manowar think it does.

I see what you mean, it's a bit of a pissin' contest really. Gallows are shit, but I actually like Manowar. It's only and official record. I bet it's been broken by 50 other bands before.

Pretty pointless record I suppose now they could say 'Come see the loudest guitars in the world live!'. When I saw the topic I thought someone was breaking the record for the shortest song which is held by Napalm Death for the song 'you suffer'. I think it goes for 1.3 seconds or so.

That would have been just as pointless, wouldn't it? My first thought was some drumming record.

I think S.O.D's "Momo" is shorter

I don't see how this record is even relevent. So what if your considered the loudest band? There's probably a band right down the road whose louder.

okay so are you saying they broke the record for loudest band or loudest guitar player. Because Manowar held 3guiness world records for being the loudest in the world one was loudest band, the second was loudest guitarist (former Manowar guitarist David Shankle) which was at around 132 or somthing I will ask him next week when I see him again. And of course the record for loudest musicain Bassist Joey Demaio with a who played at over 160 db. So which record did they happen to break I am curious.

Espically since in the mid 90s guiness said that they want to be no part of this record anymore and will not take anymore aplications for it. So really now noone can officailly break the record not Even the might MANOWAR themselves

and if the record has truely been broken this is one Manowar is very proud of so rest assused I can make one phone call and Manowar will go out and break it again
